COTABATO CITY (PIA) — New Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister (ICM) Abdulraof Macacua has pledged to continue implementing the moral governance agenda of former chief Ahod Balawag Ebrahim.
Macacua made this commitment during his recent official inauguration as the new chief of BARMM.
Macacua emphasized that the principle of moral governance, pioneered by Ebrahim, will continue to guide every move, decision, and service of the Bangsamoro Government.
“Our guiding principle remains the same: moral governance. That’s not just a slogan, it’s our standard,” he said.
He also stated that under his administration, the Bangsamoro Government will continue to prioritize education, health, peace, livelihood, infrastructure, security, and long-term development.
“No one will be forgotten, from the capital to the most remote islands and upland communities. No one will be left behind,” Macacua pointed out.
The official also stressed that the Bangsamoro Government will continue to strengthen its relationship with the national government.
“We are ready to be an active, committed partner in the vision of Bagong Pilipinas. Bangsamoro will not sit on the sidelines, we will stand as allies in reform, justice, and progress,” Macacua said.
Meanwhile, former Interim Chief Minister Ebrahim emphasized in a statement delivered by Senior Minister Abunawas Maslamama that he remains committed to sustaining the achievements of the Bangsamoro peace process.
“This peaceful transfer of power manifests that the MILF-led BARMM is committed to sustaining the gains of the peace process and the development milestones we have collectively achieved over the past six years,” the statement read.
Ebrahim also called on the Bangsamoro people to support the new interim chief minister in continuing the vision of an empowered, cohesive, and progressive Bangsamoro.
“As the Chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, I shall continue to provide guidance to the Government of the Day as it navigates the last remaining chapter of the transition period,” Ebrahim further said in the statement.
This year, the Bangsamoro region is also celebrating the 11th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro, a peace accord that resulted in the establishment of BARMM. (LTB, PIA Cotabato City)
