New Capiz State U prexy strengthens ties with media

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) –- The Capiz State University (CapSU) in an effort to strengthen the school’s working relationship with local media practitioners, held a press conference three days after the installation of its new university President. 

CapSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan assumed office as the 4th university president.

“I believe that this is one of the most important events as I start my journey as the fourth university president of CapSU. It is always one of my advocacies to foster transparency. So, with this press conference that I [envision to hold] once a year, or even most often, will help us promote transparency in managing CapSU,” he said.

During the interaction, Linan took the opportunity to present his vision, mission, and plans for the university that include Relevant Research, Inclusive Education, Sustainable Production and Extension for Enterprise Development (RISE).

He also received a heartwarming welcome as he took the helm of the presidency last Sept. 9 in the Dadivas Gym of CapSU – Roxas City main campus before university key officials, family members, campus administrators and satellite college directors, faculty members, and students. 

“As your new university president, my plans for Capiz State University are encapsulated in my vision, and that is to become a leading university of academic excellence and innovation for future ready communities,” Linan said in his inaugural address.

“I envision our university as a beacon of academic distinction, renowned for its unwavering commitment to instruction, research, and community engagement,” he added.

He succeeded outgoing president Dr. Editha C. Alfon, who retired from the service. (AAL/PIA Capiz)
