The BFP CAR culminates the celebration of Fire Prevention Month in Tabuk City, Kalinga on April 2, 2025.
TABUK CITY, Kalinga — As part of the modernization effort of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the national government is enhancing the response capabilities of fire stations in the Cordillera region by providing more firetrucks and ambulances.
BFP-Cordillera Officer-In-Charge Fire Senior Superintendent Robert M. Pacis said firetrucks have already been given to the towns of Asipulo and Kiangan in Ifugao, Lubuagan in Kalinga, and the municipality of Pilar in Abra. Other localities in the Cordillera will also be getting new equipment.
“Nasa first quarter pa lang naman tayo, probably by the end of the year may mga susunod pang firetrucks,” Pacis said during the culmination of the Fire Prevention Month in Tabuk City on April 2, 2025.
Aside from firetrucks, fire stations in the region will also be given ambulances to boost their emergency response.
“We are hoping na by the second quarter may ambulance tayo na ibibigay naman sa mga municipalities and cities dito sa Cordillera,” Pacis said.
“It’s high time talaga na magkaroon tayo ng ganung mga equipment,” he added, noting that the BFP is not only mandated to respond to fires but also to medical and vehicular emergencies.
On top of new equipment, the BFP-CAR continues to update the skills of its personnel.
