QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Commuters in Metro Manila, and the provinces of Laguna, and Batangas can look forward to a more seamless travel experience as the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Ayala Land Inc.’s Arca South Integrated Terminals, Inc. officially broke ground on the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX) on Monday.

This multi-modal terminal aims to replicate the success of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista announced that the TCITX is designed to rationalize transfer points for people and goods, especially benefiting commuters from Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas.
“The integrated terminal will establish effective interconnections between different transport modes and services, enhancing the overall commuting experience,” Bautista said.

Once operational, the TCITX is expected to alleviate congestion in southern Metro Manila, providing travelers with more efficient and accessible transportation options.
“This project will be instrumental in decongesting major thoroughfares and offering a smoother journey for the riding public,” Bautista added, with an anticipated launch in the first quarter of 2028.
The TCITX is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project spanning 5.57 hectares, with a passenger capacity of 160,000 and the ability to accommodate 5,200 vehicles daily.
Key facilities will include passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure bays, public information systems, as well as ticketing and baggage handling services.
Similar to the PITX, the TCITX will feature passenger-friendly amenities and will connect to the Southeast Metro Manila Expressway (SEMME), the North-South Commuter Railway System (NSCR), and the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) through dedicated entry and exit ramps. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
