MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the construction of a new two-storey provincial office building for the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Baler.
Funded under the 2024 national budget with a P14.85-million allocation, the 521-square-meter facility provides dedicated spaces for staff, training, and administration, expanding access to a wider range of technical and vocational courses.
District Engineer Roderick Andal emphasized the project’s importance in addressing the growing demand for technical education, which the previous TESDA building struggled to meet.
“The new structure includes a staff workstation, storage room, three Provincial Director’s rooms, a lounge area, pantry, multipurpose hall, and additional amenities that will enhance the learning environment and help students develop skills needed in the competitive job market,” Andal said.
He also noted that the facility will offer vocational courses in automotive technology, culinary arts, and information technology, with the newly built covered court serving as a venue for various activities and events benefiting both students and the local community.
The completion of this project is expected to attract more students to vocational education, contributing to the overall workforce development of Aurora. (DPWH)
