ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) –The newly-installed Police Regional Office 6 director Brig. General Jack Wanky has directed the policemen in the province to serve the communities with a commitment to duty and excellence.
This was among the marching orders of the region’s top cop during a “Talk To Men” as part of his visit last March 22 to Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) at Camp Teodorico C. Apil in Brgy. Lanot in Roxas City.
The command visit aims to cascade the thrusts of his leadership in support of the 5-point agenda of the Philippine National Police which includes prioritizing aggressive and honest law enforcement operations that respect human rights and increase conviction rates; boosting personnel morale and welfare; enhancing integrity, which is the foundation of their profession; investing in information and communication technology development; and community engagement.
“Be committed to making a gradual but consistent change everyday,” he said, encouraging everyone to improve continuously and do better in their respective tasks.
He also directed the policemen to be open to superior officers’ mentoring and be uncomplacent about previous accomplishments, but thrilled to hurdle greater endeavors.
The PNP official also led the awarding of Tapaz and President Roxas Municipal Police Stations for their respective accomplishments a week prior to the visit.
CPPO Provincial Advisory Group chair Ivan Chu also received a citation, on behalf of the group, for the stakeholders’ support of the peace and order campaign.
The command visit also included the general’s command conference, media interviews, and a courtesy call to Gov. Fredenil Castro, Vice-Gov. Jaime Magbanua, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Capiz chapter chair, and Maayon Mayor Raymond Malapajo.
Wanky was appointed as acting PRO director last Feb. 15 and officially assumed the post as the region’s chief of police four days later following a turnover of command at Camp Martin T. Delgado in Iloilo City. (AGP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
