OROQUIETA, Misamis Occidental (PIA) — To enhance social services and disaster response, the Misamis Occidental Provincial Government has reached a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly renovated offices for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) at the PEO Compound, Lower Lamac, Oroquieta.
Gov. Henry Oaminal’s dedication to improving public service infrastructure was evident during the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on June 24. He emphasized the importance of providing service providers with efficient and comfortable workspaces, which, in turn, would enable them to serve the community better.“This office is wholeheartedly offered to you to maximize our working relationship, allowing us to provide the best possible service to our people,” Oaminal said.
DSWD-10 Assistant Regional Director for Operations Ronald Ryan Cui expressed his gratitude and amazement at the new office facilities, noting the significant improvement from their previous outdated and leaking office space.
“We are truly amazed by this new office. Moving from our old, dilapidated office is a welcome change. Rest assured, Governor, that we will be able to serve the Misamisnons better. These structures symbolize the strong partnership between DSWD and the province of Misamis Occidental,” he added.
PSWD Officer Lorellie J. Yee emphasized the importance of the new workspaces for improving service delivery. “We are gathered here today to celebrate the beginning of more improved services through our new workspace and warehouse. This realization of our vision is thanks to the administration of our hardworking governor. This occasion marks a significant moment for all of us,” she said.
She further noted, “With these new surroundings, we have an excellent opportunity to implement our work more effectively. The proximity of the PSWD and DSWD offices means easier and stronger collaboration between the two, paving the way for more partnerships in the future.”
The upgraded offices aim to create a conducive environment for personnel, enhancing operational efficiency and client service delivery, thereby ensuring that the residents of Misamis Occidental receive the best possible support and care. (PGMO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
