DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Aug. 10 (PIA) -- Dumaguete City has vaccinated about 30,000 qualified residents against COVID-19 with Sinovac, Astrazeneca, and Janssen vaccines as of Aug. 9.

To continue and accelerate the COVID-19 immunization of more eligible residents, the city has received additional delivery of 5,000 vaccines of Sinovac on Aug. 9.

Qualified residents under A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidity), and A4 (frontline personnel) are scheduled to receive the said vaccines.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, who requested for more COVID-19 vaccines before the National Inter-Agency Task Force and Department of Health-7, lauded the national government for sending fresh supply to the city that can inoculate more eligible and registered residents in the waiting list.

As of Aug. 9, the city has 43 active COVID-19 cases, 2,752 recoveries, and 79 deaths since the pandemic affected the city on Jan. 30, 2020.

The City Health Office has also reported that six new COVID-19 recoveries with two new cases were recorded on Aug. 9.
