Calapan disadvantaged workers receive cash-for-work aid

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – At least 100 disadvantaged workers from this city received recently cash-for-work aid amounting to P3,200 each from the provincial government.

Recipients of the payment were identified workers from different coastal barangays in Calapan.  The actual 10-day clean up activities in the coastal barangays started  last July 18, 2021.

Based on the announcement released by the Provincial Information Office, the project is part of the Emergency Employment Program (EEP) of the provincial government being handled by Education and Employment Services Division (EESD).

The program aims to promote awareness about proper environmental sanitation and cleanliness.

In a message read by Puerto Galera Municipal Councilor Miko Atienza, Governor Bonz Dolor said the project is not merely a financial dole out but also to inculcate the importance of caring for the environment. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
