PCOO chief bares Duterte legacies in Cagayan Valley

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar has presented the legacies of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in Cagayan Valley Region and in the entire country. 

Andanar, during his radio interview with DZYT Sonshine Radio earlier today, said while there are several high impact programs accomplished and delivered by the Duterte administration in the region, major infrastructure projects were already completed under the "Build Build Build" program. 

He said these projects include the upgrading of the domestic airports in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Palanan, Isabela; Basco, Batanes; and Cauayan City, Isabela. 

Other projects, he added are, the Pigalo Bridge in Isabela; Racuh Access Road in Batanes; Abusag Bridge in Baggao, Cagayan; Bayombong-Solano Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya; Cabagan Bypass Road in Isabela; Disibuluan Bridge in Quirino; Bambang Bypass Road in Nueva Vizcaya; Claveria Diversion Road and Seaport in Cagayan; and the Flood Control project in Mallig, Isabela. 

He also mentioned the Tourism Access Road leading to Maddela Eco-Park in Quirino; access roads in Allacapan, Cagayan; construction of a two-storey building for the Philippine National Police in Isabela; Guibang-Gamu Bypass road; phase II of Pamplona Bypass road; and the upgrading of the Mangkuram-Siffu farm-to-market road in Isabela. 

"These are just few of the various development projects implemented during the Duterte administration in region 2," Andanar said. 

He also said there are 937,000 farmers benefited from the irrigation projects and agriculture related programs of the Duterte administration nationwide. 

Andanar also said that more than 6 million Filipinos were lifted up from living in the marginalized status as reflected in the recent national poverty incidents rate. 

"The poverty incidents in the country went down from 24% to 14% before this pandemic and this one of the legacies of the President," Andanar said. 

He also urged the public to cooperate and help in containing COVID-19 problem to slowly transition the country's status into new normal that will enable reopening of industries, tourism and human activities to eventually regain economic stability. (MDCT/OTB/PIA Cagayan)
