NTF pushes for massive vaccine information drive

CALOOCAN (PIA) – National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 underscores the importance of intensifying ‘vaccine information drive’ and combating misinformation to boost Filipino vaccine acceptance.

“Nakikita natin importante ang massive information drive dahil based doon sa latest SWS survey karamihan ng ating mga kababayan na hindi nagpapabakuna ay dahil sa misinformation,” NTF Chief Implementer and Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Galvez said in Laging Handa public briefing on Monday, Nov. 8.

Galvez added that most of the misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines is commonly found in social media.

Vaccine experts, medical associations, and other private sector stakeholders are now working together to have a massive information drive on the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

“Kaya nanawagan kami sa lahat ng ating kababayan na ang mga bakuna na ginagamit natin ngayon ay talagang epektibo sa real world data,” Galvez stated.

The vaccine czar urged the public not to believe in vaccine-related fake news and other initiatives from anti-vaxxers.

“Kailangan na kailangan natin magpabakuna dahil nakita natin na bumagsak ang ating COVID-19 cases dahil napakataas ng pagbabakuna dito sa Metro Manila,” Galvez said. (JMB/PIA-IDPD)
