70 indigent high school students benefit from SK project

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 70 indigent high school students from the town of San Mateo were beneficiaries of the Sangguiang Kabataan’s (SK) School Kit Pantry project.

The distribution of the school kit pantry was led by SK Federation President Alenis Jaya Astrero, who also conceptualized the said project.

Aside from the selected high school students of San Mateo, 80 indigent college students from the town also benefitted under the same SK project.

“We have conceptualized this noble project to help our youth in their online studies [and to provide them] school supplies,” Astrero stated.

He said that they are planning to expand the project to elementary pupils, including the distribution of free vitamins to children ages 2 to 12 years old.

The activity of the SK San Mateo is part of the National Children’s Month celebration last October, which was held with the theme, ”New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!” (JKC/MGE/PIA Isabela)
