BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Department of Health (DOH) - Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CHD) recently offered their Tuberculosis check-up services to 190 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and jail guards of the provincial jail here.
The activity is part of the DOH implementation of the National Tuberculosis Control Program towards TB elimination in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
Carmelo Andrada, jail warden said 190 jail guards, administrative staff, PDL and CICLs were screened through Mobile Chest X-ray.
“We are grateful for the DOH because this will contribute to our efforts and programs in ensuring the health and wellness of our PDL while they are inside the provincial jail,” he said.
Andrada said 96 percent of the total population of the provinciaL jail availed the free services of the DOH. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
