DTI Isabela establishes consumer assistance center

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Isabela has established a Consumer Welfare Assistance Center (CWAC) in this city’s public market.

The agency’s Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo and City of Ilagan Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz recently signed a memorandum of agreement for the establishment of the said center. The signing was witnessed by both  DTI and LGU City of Ilagan officials.

The head of DTI Isabela, Winston Singun, said that the CWAC will provide consumers with ready access to DTI consumer-related information materials including  immediate assistance on consumer complaints.

He added that the CWAC was established inside the City of Ilagan Public Market to directly receive complaints from the area, and will coordinate with the market administration office to resolve any issues forwarded by consumers.

City Market Administrator Gerry Manguira assured that all consumer-related complaints will be acted upon in coordination with the DTI.

He also said that Ilagueño consumers are guaranteed that all their complaints will be acted upon and all regulations relative to consumer protection will be implemented to ensure that all products for sale are in accordance with reasonable and existing regulations. (JKC/MGE/PIA Isabela)
