Mimaropa holds reg'l Dagyaw on virtual mode for second year

QUEZON CITY (PIA) -- Due to the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mimaropa’s Dagyaw Town Hall Meeting will be held virtually again for the second time this year.

Dagyaw 2021 in the Mimaropa Region shall conduct two (2) Episodes and will revolve around the discussions on the regional theme: Usapang Mimaropa sa Ilalim ng ‘New Normal’

The episodes will be held virtually in two consecutive Wednesdays (November 24 and December 1, 2021), and shall focus on topics surrounding local service delivery, in the context of the COVID-19 Recovery Efforts of the country, as well as the changes being implemented under the SC ruling on the Mandanas-Garcia Case.

“Dagyaw” is a Hiligaynon word that directly translates to mean “togetherness.” The word exemplifies the Filipino spirit of “bayanihan.” The activity is an inter-agency collaboration among Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Presidential Communications Operations Office-Philippine Information Agency (PCOO-PIA)  and NGO partner organizations.

The conduct of Dagyaw 2021 is anchored on the objective of the National Task Force Against COVID-19 Sub-Task Group on Governance, which is to ensure people-centered, clean, technology-enabled, and responsive governance by providing an open, neutral, and protected space for dialogue on key national and local issues, and plans amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and strategize to restart social and economic activities.  The event hopes to be an avenue for citizens to ask questions particularly for topics close to home. 

Episode 1 will highlight these sub-topics: Usapang Debolusyon sa Pagpapalaganap ng Serbisyong Lokal and Nasaan na ba tayo? Usapang Bakuna at Herd Immnuity sa COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Episode 2 will focus on these sub-topics: UsapangTurismo at Pangkabuhayan: Mga Hamon sa Panahon ng Pandemya, and Usapang Enerhiya: Mga Potensyal na Dulot ng Renewable Energy.

Resource speakers and panelists will be composed of representatives from the government, NGOs, academe and private companies. (MBR/PIA Mimaropa)
