23 Kalinga youth complete virtual 'KMME' course

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – Twenty three youth here are equipped with entrepreneurial skills after completing the virtual course on Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) and Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP).

Wayleen Datic of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office said the modular training prepared participants to improve their investment plan.

As course requirement, mentees must submit their investment plans which they can present as investment model when applying for financial assistance.

Aside from acquiring business skills, mentees also get connected to larger business networks for opportunities and support.

The program launched in 2016 aims to develop young entrepreneurs in partnership with the Go Negosyo advocates from the academe and private establishments serving as mentors.

Since the launching of the KMME in the province, the program has developed 94 young entrepreneurs, many of them operating their business now. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
