NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) – As the calendar year 2021 ends, TESDA-Biliran Provincial Training Center advised all interested enrollees to the different qualifications offered to submit requirements for CY 2022 scholarship trainings.

During the recent Pulong-Pulong Ng Bayan hosted by PIA-Biliran over Radyo Natin-Naval, Violeta Gahum, supervising technical skills and development specialist and at the same time administrator of TESDA-Biliran PTC, disclosed eight qualifications offered in their center, to wit: Masonry NC II, Driving NC II, Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Heavy Equipment Operation – Backhoe Loader NC II, Hydraulic Excavator NC II, Contact Tracing NC II, Barangay Health Services NC II, and Bread and Pastry NC II.

All these qualifications are offered through scholarship trainings with allowances and free assessment fees.

Scholarship slots for all qualifications this year are all filled up and done with the trainings except for masonry which will start training before the year ends, said Gahum. TESDA-Biliran PTC will try its best to offer Automotive next year when the partnership with private establishments is smoothened, she added.

To ensure a scholarship slot for a chosen TESDA qualification next year, Gahum advised interested applicants to visit their office to fill up the learner’s profile and submit requirements such as 4 copies of 1x1 picture, 4 copies passport size ID picture with collar, live birth certificate or baptismal certificate, high school diploma or certificate of grades or transcript of record, and barangay certification for PUM/PUI.

TESDA-Biliran PTC is currently holding office at the Biliran Provincial Capitol Compound across the DILG building.

The center was established in December 2019 based on Memorandum No. 269 series of 2019 signed by TESDA Director General, Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña on July 8, 2019.

The memorandum mandates the establishment of training centers in TESDA provinces without training centers. (nbq/mlt/PIA8 Biliran)
