CSC R1 lauds exemplary government workers

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Nov. 25 (PIA) -- Dedicated civil servants from all over the Ilocos region were honored during the 2021 Regional Recognition and Awards Rites conducted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office 1 held on November 18, 2021 via an online meeting.

Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal, Regional Director of the CSC-R1 said, “These people have proven that despite the enormous difficulties, challenges and adversities, we are continuously facing nowadays, they stand tall and create a niche for themselves by first taking the steps, big and impactful steps towards the destiny of greatness.”

The virtual ceremony was attended by the awardees, contingents from Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, La Union, and Pangasinan, CSC Field Offices led by their directors, Department of Education Regional Office 1 employees led by Director Tolentino G. Aquino, personnel and staff of the Council of Human Resource Management Practitioners (CHRMP) and CSC RO1, and partner agencies.

CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said, “As civil servants, tayo ang inaasahan na mangalaga sa seguridad at kapakanan ng taong-bayan, this huge responsibility is part of our commitment to public service that is why we continue to salute all of our hardworking government frontliners and employees who keep our systems going.”

The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is an annual event of the CSC to hail the several government officials and employees who demonstrated outstanding contributions and exemplary behavior adhering to Republic Act No. 6731 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of Public Officials and Employees.

 “It is not an easy feat to remain committed to duty while there is an on-going crisis, but we continue to push through, every hour, day by day, that in itself is a great achievement,” CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada said.

According to the CSC, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan, CSC Pagasa, and Dangal ng Bayan awards are the highest honors a civil servant may receive in their career.

The CSC Regional Office 1 lauded two (2) Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in the Human Resource Management or PRIME-HRM agency awardees, top three (3) winners of each of the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) Photo and Songwriting Contests, the ninety-six (96) COVID-19 frontline agencies, the fifty-eight (58) partner agencies and the fifteen (15) Honor Awards Program or HAP Regional Search individual awardees, and two (2) HAP group awardees.
