DOH-9 calls for volunteers on Nat’l Vaccination Day

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Nov 24 (PIA) – As part of the government’s efforts to ramp-up the COVID-19 vaccination program, there will be a National Vaccination Day on November 29 to December 1, 2020 which aims to jab 15 Million Filipinos all over the country.

The Department of Health (DOH)-9 is preparing for the 3-day vaccination in the region to achieve the daily target of 230,338 jabs.

With the expected target number of coverage, DOH also seeks support from people who can volunteer during the National Vaccination Days. They are in need of health screener, registration personnel, health educator, encoder, vaccinator, post-vaccination monitors and data consolidator.

“To all vaccinated individuals, we are asking for your support and volunteer to your local government units to help your communities get vaccinated,” said DOH-9 Assistant Regional Director Dr. Augusto Manolo Alpichi.

As of November 22, 2021, DOH-9 received a total of 250 volunteers based in their dashboard and they need at least 2,000 volunteers for the region to help during the campaign.

Volunteers can send their intent and register through this link https://tinyurl.com/3fxytrjm and their LGU will contact them for their vaccination site assignment and task.

DOH-9 is also encouraging companies to let all their employees get vaccinated and if they can also volunteer their offices or free space as one of the vaccination sites.

Individuals age 12 and above can now register in their LGUs for the 3-day vaccination campaign, “we like to emphasize that vaccination is key for continually reducing more severe disease due to COVID-19,” Dr. Alpichi said.

Moreover, DOH-9 will still continue the vaccination roll-out even after the 3-day vaccination campaign and also starting to administer the booster shots to all frontliners and health care workers. (EDT/MLE/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
