Recognitions of excellence awarded to Cavite establishments

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite (PIA) – Three commercial establishments in the province – a big retail/wholesale supermarket and two micro enterprises recently received awards for excellence from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Cavite Consumer Protection Division.

Puregold Naic bagged the Gold Bagwis Seal after it successfully complied with the requirements of Fair Trade Laws; Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD); and Social Responsibility; and alignment to ISO 9001.

Meanwhile, Delfa’s Food Products, Inc. and Amira’s Buco Tart Haus, recognized in September and October respectively, were awarded the Silver Bagwis Seal. The award serves as recognition to both establishments for upholding the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business.

Said MSMEs are Cavite’s home-grown enterprises being beneficiaries of DTI’s programs such as the Shared Service Facilities (SSF).

The recognition would serve as an initiative for other enterprises to participate in DTI’s drive to promote consumer rights and protection.

“We are very proud that in Cavite, we already have these enterprises who now serve as our partners in protecting the welfare of our consumers,” added DTI Cavite Provincial Director Revelyn Cortez.

The DTI-Bagwis Program gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for money.

The program also encourages the setting up of Consumer Welfare Desks (CWDs) or an equivalent customer relations office inside the mall that will provide information to consumers and serve as a mechanism for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints. (RBF/PIA-Cavite)
