SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) - - The Bureau of Fire Protection is conducting a regular refresher course and simulation exercises to keep the firefighters competent and ready to respond in case of emergency calls.
BFP Antique Information Officer FO3 Vilamarie M. Pagunsan said that it has been a daily morning routine of the Municipal Fire Stations provincewide to conduct physical exercises and checking of the firefighting equipment of the station.
"The vehicles are being checked based on the BLOWBAGETS (Brake, Lights, Oil, Water, Battery, Air, Gas, Engine, Tires, and Self) guide to ensure that these are ready to be used any time of the day. Cleaning of the fire station as well is a routine work," she said.
During the recent conference of the Provincial Fire Directors with BFP 6 Regional Director Jerry D. Candido, he said that Refresher Course or Skills Inventory will be part of the office's daily morning activities.
BFP Antique is also conducting simulation exercises ‐ Mondays are for Donning and doffing of SCBA Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus; Tuesdays – Ladder carries and up the ladder; Wednesdays – Hose throwing and folding and Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) of firefighting; Thursdays – Medical First Responder; and Fridays are for station specific activities.
BFP Antique Acting Provincial Fire Director Joeffrey T. Animas urged all personnel to assume the activity in real-life situations.
The fire stations are required to post in their respective social media accounts of their daily activities to ensure the public that the BFP is doing its job and prepared in case of emergency. BFP/PIA-Antique)
