DTI, LGU support local MSMEs with livelihood project

Trece Martires, Cavite (PIA) – A total of forty-nine (49) Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality of Noveleta received packs of Alaska milk products and financial assistance in a turn-over and distribution ceremony held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the Unlad Noveleta Gymnasium in Barangay San Rafael II.

This is part of the formal launch of the Alaskabuhayan Livelihood and Nutrition Project, a partnership of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cavite, Alaska Milk Corporation and the local government of Noveleta which aims to aid MSMEs and their food businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the beneficiaries are milk tea shops, eateries, and other food and beverage businesses.

The distribution ceremony was led by Mayor Dino Reyes-Chua with DTI - Regional Operations Group Assistant Secretary Dominic Tolentino, together with DTI- Provincial Director Revelyn Cortez.

During the program, the beneficiaries also received financial assistance from the LGU under the Tulong Puhunan program with amounts ranging from P3K to P5K as additional capital for their businesses.

Part of the assistance from the AlasKabuhayan Livelihood program are free cooking lessons to food business entrepreneurs slated in the coming days.

Present in the event were Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, 1st District Board Member Davey Chua, and the Municipal Councillors of Noveleta who assisted in the distribution activity. (RBF/PIA-Cavite)
