PALO, Leyte (PIA) – The Department of Health in Eastern Visayas (DOH-8) is targeting 790,191 individuals to be vaccinated during the 3-day national COVID-19 Vaccination Days or Bayanihan Bakunahan 2021 set on November 29 to December 1.
This was announced by Jelyn Lopez Malibago, DOH-8 regional information officer during the Suruswerte ha PIA radio program on Thursday noting the continued decrease of COVID-19 cases in Region 8.
“There is a steady decline of cases now and hoping that this will continue but the public should not be complacent and it is still important to follow simple health protocols and be vaccinated,” Malibago said.
“We are inviting everyone to become a hero during the Bayanihan Bakunahan this November 29 to December 1. A simple encouragement of your co-worker, neighbor, friends and families is one way to help the vaccination campaign. All vaccines are effective, safe and free, so get vaccinated,” Malibago said.
With enough supply of vaccines, the target number could be achieved during the 3-day vaccination drive in all designated vaccination centers all over the region.
The launching of the 3-day National Vaccination Days in the region will be held at the DOH-8 regional office located at the Government Center, Candahug, Palo Leyte at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 29.
This move is in support of the government’s intensified drive to expedite the vaccination campaign where 15 million Filipinos are expected to be inoculated during the 3-day vaccination activity.
DOH-8 goal is to reach herd immunity by the end of the year. (LDL/CBA/PIA-8)
