QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Acting Presidential Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles presented on Monday the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) resolutions on restrictions for international travelers following the threat of the Omicron variant.
IATF has approved the resolution to include South Africa, Botswana, Nambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Austria,Czech Republic, Hungary, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy under ‘red’ countries, effective from November 28 to December 15, 2021.
“Hindi pinapayagang makapasok ng Pilipinas ang lahat ng mga pasaherong galing sa red list sa loob ng nakaraang labing-apat na araw anuman ang kanilang vaccination status,” Nograles said.
Nograles added that only Filipinos through government-initiated or non-government-initiated repatriations are allowed to enter the country.
“At isasailalim pa rin sila sa umiiral na protocols sa entry, testing at quarantine para sa red list countries, jurisdictions or territories,” Nograles added.
Nograles cited that IATF suspended the testing and quarantine protocols for countries classified as part of ‘green’ countries effective immediately until December 15, 2021.
“Maliban sa mga bansang classified as ‘red’, ang testing at quarantine protocols para sa lahat ng inbound international travelers in all ports of entry ay kailangang sumunod sa testing at quarantine protocols ng ‘yellow’ list countries,” he said.
Meanwhile, passengers from ‘green’ countries who arrived before November 28 will still be subject to the quarantine protocols enforced based on their country of origin upon the date of their arrival.
“Inaprubahan din kahapon ang pansamantalang suspensyon ng IATF Resolution # 150-A Series of 2021 providing for the entry of fully vaccinated nationals of non-visa required countries,” Nograles stated.
With the threat of the Omicron variant, the national government is intensifying the local response for COVID-19 and urging the local government units to heighten their alert for any cases. (MCDS/PIA-IDPD)
