50 returning OFWs trained on bread making

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) - - Some 50 Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (ROFWs) from Maddela and Cabarroguis underwent three-day Bread and Pastry Production training under the Community-Based Training Program of the Technical Education and skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Herminigilda T. Gamet,  Community Training and Employment coordinator said  the training aimed to  provide the ROFWs with additional skills that they can use should they return to work abroad or start a business in their own place.

Tesda Quirino Provincial Director Genaro Ronald C. Ibay, Mayor Willlard D. Abuan and Mayor Rimel Tolentino personally graced the graduation ceremonies held in the municipal halls of the two towns.

According to Tesda Quirino Information Officer Antonette Peralta, they targeted 2,823 beneficiaries for the CBTP particularly the poor and marginalized groups or those who cannot access or are not accessible by formal training programs.

As of press time, a total of 3,800 or 134.60% of the target have already benefited from the said program.

“At present, the Provincial Training Center at Palacian, Aglipay is  accepting enrollees for  Driving NC II and there's an upcoming training on Tile Setting at Magsaysay, Diffun," Peralta said. (MDCT/TCB/PIA Quirino)
