SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna (PIA) — The National Task Force Against Covid-19 commended Calabarzon for achieving the highest vaccination output and exceeding the daily jabs target in the recently concluded ‘Bayanihan, Bakunahan’ national vaccination days.
Galvez who led the vaccination site visit on Thursday at the Santa Rosa City Sports Complex also thanked local government officials, government agencies, private sector in Calabarzon for supporting the government’s vaccination program.
More than 1.1 million jabs
Calabarzon which has administered at least 1,126,029 Covid-19 jabs, topped the regions in the country with the highest number of individuals inoculated from November 29 to December 1.
Data from the Department of Health Region 4A also show Cavite shares the biggest vaccination output which has administered 267,054 jabs followed by Laguna with 259,642; Batangas with 255,968; Rizal with 182,457; and, Quezon which has inoculated 160,908.
Cavite along with Laguna generated the highest number of Covid-19 jabs among the provinces in the country in the three-day massive vaccination activities.
For Galvez, the high vaccination output show increasing demands and acceptance of the public to the vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
According to Galvez, the number of individuals getting the Covid-19 jab has tripled during the three-day vaccination drive.
The NTF Chief Implementer hopes that LGUs continue to conduct massive vaccination drives in their locality to vaccinate more residents and achieve population protection, as another new Covid-19 variant looms.
Galvez also encouraged unvaccinated individuals to take part in the government’s massive vaccination program, as they hold another round of Bayanihan, Bakunahan on December 15-17.
Get vaccinated vs new variants
Testing czar Secretary Vivencio Dizon meanwhile urged local chief executives in Laguna to set in place measures and boost vaccination efforts, as a new variant of Covid-19 threatens the country.
Dizon sees an urgent need to achieve population protection as vaccines are the only solution to get protection against severe symptoms caused by Covid-19 variants.
NTF Against Covid-19 officials including Galvez, Dizon, and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III personally visited the Santa Rosa City vaccination site on Thursday, as the government wraps up the three-day Bayanihan, Bakunahan. — FC, PIA Laguna
