Gandamra assures Marawi rehab’s road right-of-way indemnity

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Addressing concerns about properties affected by the ongoing rehabilitation here, City Mayor Majul Gandamra assured that road right-of-way payment will be given to such private owners.

He shared that the national government has prepared a program, subjecting properties to compensation as they are hit by the building of various public infrastructures.

“The National Housing Authority entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the LGU na may pondo para doon sa pagcompensate ng possible na maapektuhan [for the compensation of those possibly affected] as a result of the construction of public infrastructures. Ang road right-of-way ay babayaran naman [The road right-of-way will be paid],” said Gandamra.

The mayor stated that the local government is doing its best to negotiate with its constituents for their much-needed cooperation.

He stressed that everything done in the area, although some properties are encroached, is for the greater good of all the citizens and the betterment of the future of the city.

“Kailangan lang natin ng tulong ng ating mga kababayan. Lahat ng ginagawa ng ating gobyerno ay para sa kanila, para ayusin ang ating Marawi City. Pagbalik nila ay maayos silang mamumuhay and the establishment of all the public infrastructures ay mapapakinabangan nila in the near future,” said Gandamra.

[We just need the help of our fellowmen. Everything the government does is for them, to fix Marawi City. When they return, they will live properly and the establishment of all the public infrastructures will be enjoyed in the near future.] (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
