Taguig ramps up TB care, prevention program

PARAÑAQUE CITY (PIA) -- The City Government of Taguig continuously ramps up its TB care and prevention program despite 44 years of National Tuberculosis Control Program implementation in the country.

In this year's observance of World Tuberculosis Day with the theme, “Invest To End TB. Save Lives”, the local government provided free chest x-ray screening to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries and PAP members to assist in the early TB detection and lessen the cost of TB treatment for an affected household.

To bring the services closer to the people, the city government brought free TB screening to North Daang Hari Barangay Hall, South Signal Batman Court, and San Miguel Health Center Parking.

Interested Taguigeños may avail of the service on March 24 at Balagtas Court Old Lower Bicutan, and Maharlika Elementary School on March 25.

Lung diseases are considered one of the leading causes of death among Filipinos, the city government commits to safeguard its citizens and ensures they will be provided with best health services in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. (Taguig PIO/PIA-NCR)
