GTLMH conducts seminar on TB awareness

ILIGAN CITY--In celebration of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, the Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital (GTLMH) organized a seminar on TB awareness and management on March 24, 2022.

Dubbed “Invest to end TB, Save Lives”, the seminar aims to provide knowledge among medical practitioners in GTLMH about the management of patients with TB.

Mary Joy Familar, nurse coordinator of GTLMH and one of the organizers of the seminar, called out on non-medical personnel to encourage people with TB symptoms to get consulted immediately.

Meanwhile, TB notification project officer Djahara Mae M. Caumeran emphasized the importance of TB management in controlling the proliferation of the disease.

“In TB management, there is also a key to a successful TB control program and that is proper recording and reporting. For it to be effective, (observe) complete, accurate, and timely referral,” she said.

World TB Day has been celebrated annually every 24th of March since 1882. (ASK/PIA)
