BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) -- The Nueva Vizcaya Electric Cooperative (NUVELCO) has opened its own radio FM station with the goal to bring information closer to its consumers.
Dubbed as Radio ‘Kidlat’ NUVELCO 100.5 KH FM, the media infrastructure, including the building and state-of-the-art equipment from Europe worth P4 million, is located at Barangay Bonfal proper in this town.
“It took us two years to complete this project due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will bring our information programs to our consumers, especially in the remote areas,” said Fredel Salvador, NUVELCO General Manager.
He said that the radio station was built out of the savings generated by the cooperative, and was in partnership with the Philippine Broadcasting Service (PBS) and People's Television 4(PTV-4).
Salvador added that transistor radios will also be given for free to their consumers through a raffle draw and other games, as part of the official opening of their radio station. (JKC/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
