PSA 6 to announce WV’s 2021 Economic Performance

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Western Visayas is set to conduct a press briefing on April 28 in line with the announcement of the 2021 Economic Performance of the region.

This event, which will be simultaneously conducted with the other 16 regions in the country, will be held at Zuri Hotel, here at 9:30 in the morning.

In a press release, PSA 6 noted that the Regional News Conference aims to present the 2020-2021 Regional Accounts of the Philippines that comprise the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and the Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE) as part of the mandate of the agency to generate and disseminate the economic performance of the country.

The participants shall also be apprised of the overall regional economic performance for 2021.

The major resource persons of this event will include PSA 6 Officer-in-Charge Nelida C. Amolar who will present the 2021 regional economic performance as measured by GRDP and GRDE, while NEDA 6 regional director Meylene C. Rosales will deliver the “Statement on the Policy Implications of the 2021

GRDP/GRDE Estimates to the Region’s Development.”

Meanwhile, expected participants are representatives from the regional line agencies, Local Government Units, members of the Regional Statistics Committee 6, stakeholders, policymakers and program planners both from government and private sectors, members of the academe, and the media.
