F2F graduation rites in some Antique schools soon

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA)  - -  Some schools in Antique will soon experience face-to-face graduation after its suspension for two school seasons due to the pandemic.

Schools Division Superintendent Felisa B. Beriong, in a press conference, said that the Department of Education has already issued a memorandum to this effect that allows schools to hold onsite graduation rites as long as they comply with the parameters set by the department.

For Antique, the current classification is in Level 2, thus, graduation ceremonies in some schools could go face-to-face but they are obliged to follow the requirements set by DepEd.

For schools that intend to hold again the online graduation rites, it still is allowed, she said.

Education Program Supervisor Oliver Servillon of DepEd Antique emphasized the need for schools to strictly comply with the health protocols and other parameters set by the local Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19.

The onsite graduation program is open for Kindergarten, Grade 6, Grade 10, and Grade 12 including those in the Alternative Learning System.

There should be a separate program for recognition and graduation rites in order not to gather a huge number of attendees.

The theme of this year’s graduation program is "K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity (Gradweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa mga Pagsubok)." (JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique)
