Army, PIA6 partner for competency enhancement workshop

ILOILO CITY (PIA) -- The Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, G7 of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division, in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency 6 held a two-day Virtual Competency Enhancement Workshop.

Major Joelito Guanzon, OG7 Public Affairs Office chief, opened the activity with a message highlighting that learning is a continuous process.

The CMO G7 tapped the information officers of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 6 as resource speakers for the two-day training.

PIA 6 regional head Cheryl B. Amor also delivered a message to the participants, noting that information dissemination is an essential part of the work of the peacekeeping mandate of the Army, thus, this training is vital to their mandate. PIA 6 Assistant Regional Head Jemin Guillermo focused her discussion on development communication to commence the training.

Information Center Managers Alex Lumaque of Capiz and Pilar Mabaquiao of Antique discussed the basics of news and feature writing, respectively.

On June 10, topics for the continuation of the training include publication management with Information Officer Franz Remar Garion and public speaking and engagement which were discussed by Regional Training in-Charge Easter Anne Doza and Regional Head Amor.

This training is an annual activity initiated by the Division as part of the continuous learning for the CMO personnel which aims to enhance their skills in basic writing and public speaking as they serve as one of the frontliners of the 3ID's information operations. (AAL/FRG/PIA6)
