Gov. Dolor leads signing of Provincial Tourism Code of OrMin
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, along with Vice Governor Ejay Falcon and other Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, signed the Provincial Ordinance No. 139-2022 enacting the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Tourism Code of 2022 during the ceremonial signing of documents held at Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum in this city.
The tourism code provides a regulatory framework for the proper development as well as management of tourism activities in the entire province.
Provincial Tourism Officer Dr. Dhon Calda said that the code facilitates the development and further strengthens the tourism industry of the province. It was sponsored by SP Committee on Tourism Chair Board Member Fay Ilano.
Meanwhile, Dolor said the code was enacted immediately during the second session of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan under the leadership of Falcon. He said the proposal has long been pending, and because of the unity and teamwork of the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the code is now a reality.
Moreover, with the passage of the code, Calda said the provincial government and its tourism stakeholders are guaranteed to be guided by a comprehensive set of principles in tourism development ensuring tourism as a way of delivering better opportunities and sustainable development to Oriental Mindoreños.
The ceremonial signing was witnessed by Municipal/City Tourism Officers, Board Members of the First and Second Districts, local media and other stakeholders from the tourism sector. (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
