757 Returning Filipinos from Sabah arrive in Zambo

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept 7 (PIA) – Around 757 Returning Filipinos from Sabah (REFS) arrive in Zamboanga City Port tonight at 9:30pm, September 7, 2022 via MV Antonia 1.

Different Government Agencies provided immediate assistance to all the returning Filipinos including medical attention for passengers with medical condition with the help of Department of Health 9 (DOH 9). Some of the passengers were immediately assisted by the medical team and brought to the medical center for further check-up and monitoring by the health experts.

Office of the Civil Defense 9 (OCD 9) together with Department of Social Welfare and Development 9 (DSWD 9) assisted the profiling of the REFS to be given appropriate services especially in transportation to send them in their respective provinces. As per the latest data of the DSWD 9, 757 REFS including children arrived today.

Moreover, aside from the medical assistance, the REFS were also given food upon their arrival, temporary shelter for those living in provinces, hygiene kits and transportation assistance.

Strict health protocols such as wearing of face masks were observed for the REFS to maintain the safety of all passengers.

The different government agencies including OCD, DSWD, DOH, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Customs, Police Regional Office, Western Mindanao Command, Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Philippine Ports Authority immediately assisted the arrival of REFS to provide them with services and to ensure their welfare.
