MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The resumed Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) exhibit and bazaar organized by the Mindanao State University (MSU)--Main Campus here has delivered a positive upshot to businesses that joined the event, owner-entrepreneurs say.
The event was part of the extended observation of the ASEAN founding anniversary which was scheduled to be celebrated every August.
ASY Store Manager Noronsalam Mondas Alamada conveyed her happiness for being able to display her products, noting that they see this as a wonderful time for them to increase their profit while meeting new people.
She shared that they once had a physical store in the city but this was closed amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As they slowly recover, Alamada said they opened another physical store but accordingly, this store does not regularly accumulate enough income.
With the opportunity to display their products during the ASEAN exhibit and bazaar, Alamada stressed that they can at least have additional income for a month, hence, her warm invitation to the public to visit them to avail of their products like branded bags, blouses, and some plastic wares which are mostly from the Mainland China.
“Please come and visit us here at MSU International Convention Center. Makakakita kayo ng products na may [You will see products with] good quality,” she said.
Moreover, Minnie Black Dress Store Owner Minnie Pacasum expressed her gladness as the activity gave her the chance to showcase her goods coming from Thailand, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan.
She stressed that the event made her feel that it is not the profit that matters but the moment to greet more citizens from their own community.
“We got to meet new people and friends. Nag-enjoy kami,” said Pacasum.
Sharalli’s Collection Store Owner Nikki Sani, on the other hand, highlighted that the exhibit and bazaar provided a chance for online sellers, like her, who do not have physical stores to increase their income.
“Tulad naming mga online seller na walang physical store, malaking tulong na ito kaya inaaanyayahan ko kayong pumunta dito sa MSU International Convention Center,” she said as she presented her salable ready-to-wear garments from Jakarta, Indonesia.
The ASEAN exhibit and bazaar runs from September 13 to 30 this year. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
