CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 85 physically challenged learners from Ilagan East Integrated School received school supplies from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Isabela as part of the celebration of the 19th Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection and Environment Advocacy Campaign.

The activity was held on September 22, 2022 at the City of Ilagan Community Center graced by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) region 2 Regional Director Gwendolyn Bambalan.

The children were so elated upon receiving the school supplies given by the PENRO composed of coloring books, notebooks, and writing pads. T-shirts were also given to the parents.

Bambalan said during the activity that the DENR is continuously advocating for the protection and preservation of the existing natural resources not only for the adults but also for school children especially to the  learners who are physically challenged.

Bambalan urged the youth, parents, and teachers to help campaign for the protection and development of the environment.

She said that as she saw the physically challenged children during the activity, she is more eager and challenged to campaign for the protection of the environment for a good future of the children.

Bambalan also suggested that the physical challenged children must see and experience the beauty of nature. She suggested to bring the children to the Ilagan Sanctuary.
