SWAD- Ifugao serves 4K students under AICS program

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) -- A total of 4,343 students in Ifugao province have received educational assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), as of September 17, 2022.


The assistance aims to help students with their school fees, school supplies, projects, daily allowance, and others. The students-in-crisis include from poor families, working students, breadwinners of the family, orphan/abandoned children, persons with disability, victims of calamity, children of solo parent/Overseas Filipino workers/ Human Immunodeficiency Viruses patients.


Social Welfare Officer II Edelyn Dinamling of SWAD-Ifugao said the pay-outs were done peacefully due to proper coordination and assistance from the partner agencies for peace and order, regular meetings and communication with the regional office, and following the directives of DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo.


Qualified beneficiaries need to bring a photocopy of their School Registration Form/ Certificate of Enrollment and a valid identification card.


Payout for students below 18 years old is received by their parents or guardian.


The students enrolled in college or vocational schools   receive P4, 000 while senior high school students receive P3, 000. High school and elementary students receive P2, 000 and P1, 000, respectively.


Dinamling said there is a grievance team for those who are not qualified for the assistance including Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)  beneficiaries and those who have other scholarship grants. (JDP/FBR-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
