BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - The Local government Unit of Dupax del Norte recently gave financial assistance to its villagers in a bid to augment their income.

Mayor Timothy Cayton and Vice Mayor Vic Prado along with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) led the distribution of P2,000.00 each to 117 solo parents, 139 Kasambahays, five former Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), 10 abandoned and/or neglected children and four drug surrenderees.

He said the financial assistance was given as part of the town’s celebration and support to the Family Week with the recent enactment of a Provincial Ordinance declaring the last week of September as Family and Thanksgiving Week in the province.

“We want this regular assistance as our legacy to our villagers. This was already embodied in our ordinance so that our sectors can always expect a financial help from our local government unit,” Cayton said.

The LGU of Dupax del Norte has rolled out P665,000.00 for the recent distribution of assistance for the town’s villagers. (MDCT/BME/PIA Nueva Vizcaya)
