PBBM to bring aid to ‘Paeng’-hit Antique

SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) -- President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is set to visit Antique tomorrow, November 8, for the distribution of relief assistance to the affected families of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

The President will lead the relief efforts for 1,200 beneficiaries who will receive food packs, hygiene kits and P5,000 cash aid.

Sibalom town will have 200 recipients, 100 for San Remigio, and 300 each for Hamtic, Patnongon, and the provincial capital San Jose de Buenavista.

The President will then be briefed by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) as to the extent of damage to agriculture, fisheries, livestock, infrastructure, and other sectors. 

Earlier, President Marcos sent his Cabinet secretaries to conduct an aerial inspection of the aftermath of the storm and to identify the needs of the province for immediate recovery and rehabilitation.

Based on the briefer of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) released today, November 7, 51,788 families or equivalent to 202,547 individuals have been affected by the storm.

Further, 10,085 Family Food Packs (FFP) worth over P5 million and 5,822 FFPs worth over P3 million have since been distributed by DSWD and the provincial government, respectively.
