DIPOLOG CITY, Nov. 10 (PIA) - It's that time of the year again when we do the "duck, cover and hold"!
This time, the provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte spearheaded the conduct of the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), joined by various government agencies and the security sector, at the the Katipunan National High School.
At the stroke of 9 o'clock in the morning, the resounding siren from the firetrucks echoed the school grounds and throngs of students and faculty members lined-up its hallways doing the standard "duck, cover and hold" on their way to the open field where a short program was also held.
School Principal Arnulfo Subebe expressed his gratitude to the provincial government and participating agencies for choosing KNHS in the conduct of the fourth quarter NSED noting the activity "will equip the students with the necessary knowledge before, during and after an earthquake happens".
“Nagpasalamat kami ni Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos uban sa Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) nga sa unang higayon ang Katipunan National High School (KNHS) maoy gipili nga modelo o performer nga moduyog sa Fourth Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).”
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management OIC Engr. Dennis C. Tenorio, in his message, hoped for all participants to have learned something from the activity.
He also thanked all participating agencies including Philippine Red Cross, Provincial Health Office, ZNPPO, 97TH IB, BFP, Philippine Coast Guard, Provincial DepEd, who made the activity successful.
