TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) – The Technical Educational Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) Auto Mechanic Training Center is now accepting applications for Automotive Servicing Scholarship aimed at providing educational and employment opportunities to Filipinos from low-income families.
The scholarship program offers a two-year free training on Automotive Servicing which is equivalent to National Certificate I to IV to youths who finished Grade 10, Senior High School, Alternative Learning School, or college level but were not able to finish studies due to financial constraints.
In addition, it offers free board and lodging, meals, medical and dental services, life insurance, training and toiletry supplies, Driving NC II training and free tuition and course materials for two years.
Ramon Evan T. Ruiz, regional director of TESDA-8, said members of the 4Ps may also avail of this program.
Applicants must be residents of Eastern Visayas, male or female, single, aged between 16-23 years old, high school graduate, Grade 10 completers, senior high school graduate, ALS graduate and college level, from indigent families or member of the 4Ps program, willing to work after studying, willing to stay at the dormitory for two years and fully vaccinated or willing to undergo vaccination.
Interested applicants will undergo a screening process including aptitude examination, interview and house visitation. However, the final selection of scholars will be determined through the scores tallied from each of the processes and deliberation of the project’s recruitment committee.
