Bajau community thankful for Save the Children’s aid

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)--A total of 107 households from the Bajau community in Barangay Tambacan here are thankful to Save the Children Philippines for providing them with kitchen utensils and hygiene kits on Nov. 11.

Vilmalyn Belet, said the assistance is helpful to her family as they can now cook their meals properly.

"Nagpasalamat mi sa gihatag sa Save the Children kay, naa nami panglung-agan. Nalipay mi sa ilang gihatag,” she said.

[We are grateful for the assistance of Save the Children, we now have something to cook with. We are very happy with what they gave.]

Belet has four children and is also pregnant. Her husband sells rings and necklaces on the streets for a living.

Meanwhile, Alfie Daosan, a 22 year-old father, is happy that they received such assistance.

As partners of the Save the Children, Miss Universe Philippines (MUPh) 2022 Celeste Cortesi, MUPh 2022 Charity Pauline Amelinckx, and MUPh 1st Runner-Up Annabelle McDonnell also immersed themselves in the Bajau community to learn about their culture and current situation.
