Barangay Mataddi piloted for landscape development

CABARROGUIS, QUIRINO (PIA) - - Governor Dax Cua has invited a group of Landscape Architecture Masteral Students from the University of the Philippines College of Architecture (UPCA) to visit Mataddi in Nagtipunan for master planning.

In the Quirino Province Facebook Page, it was stated that Mataddi will be the pilot barangay for master planning and will serve as a model for community planning.

It was further stated that the project is in line with Cua's vision for the development of planned communities which also aims to promote tourism development without destroying the environment.

Together with their Professor Nappy Navarra, the UPCA Masteral students went to Mataddi in Nagtipunan, to inspect identified sites in the barangay for the preparation and development of Landscape Plans.

Former UP Professor Elmor Villaruel who is now the Executive Assistant of Dax briefed and led the team during the activity.

Based on the FB post, Barangay Mataddi, the summer capital of the province, has a very strong potential for eco/agri/educational/adventure- tourism development. Bare of any modern amenities, it is still a blank canvass making it ideal for development.

It was also stated that Mataddi has a very good climate, rich biodiversity, unspoiled environment, and a hardworking, peaceful and united communities.

When eco-agri-educational-adventure/tourism will be developed in Mataddi, it is hoped to become their major source of pride which can also bring the community into another level of economic freedom and socio-cultural development, the Facebook post stated.
