TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has now a total of 3, 475, 536 registered members in the Cagayan Valley Region or equivalent to 93.24% registration rate.
The self-earning individuals and the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya program, Listahanan and Modified Conditional Cash Transfer are the highest registered members at 22.42%, followed by the senior citizens at 16.61%, the privately employed at 15. 44%, government employed at 10.27%, migrant workers at 8.99%, lifetime members at 1.84%, persons with disabilities at 0.28%, and kasambahays at 0.05%.
Llewellyn R. Binasoy, regional vice president, said that though the region has already achieved a very high membership rate, PhilHealth Region 2 is looking forward to enrolling all Filipino citizens in the region for their health insurance.
In terms of collection efficiency, Binasoy said they have already collected P1.33 billion or 90% of their expected collection from January to September of this year which is P1.48 billion.
"We also processed 386, 730 claims of our members which translates into P3.78 billion total payments to 446 accredited health facilities in the region," Binasoy said.
He also said there were already 66 accredited Konsulta providers in the region to include 29 in Isabela, 16 in Cagayan, 14 in Nueva Vizcaya and seven in Quirino.
