‘Bakunahan sa Sinadya’ set Dec. 6 to 10

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- A vaccination against COVID-19 in time with the Sinadya 2022 celebration will kick off, Dec. 6, beside the bandstand of the Roxas City public plaza.

The initiative dubbed “PinasLakas Campaign Bakunahan sa Sinadya 2022” will be until the final stretch of the celebration on Dec. 10 to encourage eligible residents to get vaccinated or boosted.

Based on Department of Health (DOH) data, Roxas City has 128,924 fully vaccinated individuals who completed their primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine as of Dec. 1.

The total number is 100.76 percent higher than the 127,953 that compose the 70 percent target population in the city for the vaccination.

However, only about 23.40 percent from among them have received the first booster dose and a meager 3.84 percent proceeded with their second booster shot.

Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas, in a statement, has advised the public to be

careful and observe the mandated protocols to be safe from the COVID-19 infection as the city government will formally open, Dec. 6, a full face-to-face Sinadya festival for this year.

"We are fortunate that health protocols have been relaxed and we are now able to return to our usual activities,” Dadivas said.

The celebration highlights on the Dec. 8 Feast Day of Mary Immaculate Conception, the Patroness of the Archdiocese of Capiz. (JBG/AAL/PIA Capiz)
