TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The Cagayan Valley Occupational Safety and Health Network, Inc. (CVOSHNet) has conducted First Aid and Basic Life Support training for over 30 participants from various business establishments in Cagayan Valley Region.
The training was done in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Cagayan Chapter.
Lilian T. Cacayurin, network president, said the training is in compliance with DOLE's Department Order 235 or the Rules on the Certification of First Aiders and the Accreditation of First Aid Training Providers.
She stressed that each company should have trained first aiders who will respond properly in times of health emergencies in their respective workplaces or even when they encounter emergencies anywhere at any time.
"Though we know that you are here to comply with DOLE's order, we expect that you will seriously take this training because this will be a skill of yours that may be applied whenever there are encountered emergencies anywhere, anytime," she stressed.
Marivell L. Puputi, lead trainer from PRC, on her part, said the course program aims to provide life-saving skills by equipping the participants with appropriate knowledge and actions and to serve as the link in the emergency medical services system.
