Nueva Ecija MSMEDC continues support to various industries

GABALDON, Nueva Ecija (PIA) -- Nueva Ecija Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Council (MSMEDC) continues to support various industries in the province. 
 
It convenes regularly to see the accomplishments of each member and assess possible programs of convergence to synchronize the resources and assistance for the benefit of MSMEs. 
 
Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Richard Simangan disclosed that during the recent meeting, MSMEDC members presented the successful programs that they implemented last year which include capacity development, product development, and support for business licensing.
 
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) reported that it provided a refresher course on basic bread making, digital marketing, peanut production, post-harvest management, and product assessment to 10 farmer cooperatives in the province, as well as assistance in business licensing. 
 
DAR also assisted Simula ng Panibagong Bukas Multi-Purpose Cooperative in the enhancement of their processing facility under the program Village Level Farm Focused Enterprise Development.
 
Moreover, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) stated that a total of 66 individuals including the Killed in Action/Wounded in Action benefited from its livelihood program.
 
About 1,647 likewise benefited from the Special Program for Employment of Students, and 810 individuals received cash assistance from its AKAP Program last year. 
 
DOLE assured continued partnership with local government units all over the province in the conduct of job fairs. 
 
Meanwhile, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority shared that they have scholarship programs to help those looking for employment and would want to start a business, such as Training for Work Scholarship Program, Special Training for Employment Program, Private Education Student Financial Assistance, Rice Extension Services Program, and its free Technical Vocational Education and Training. 
 
The National Impact Zone under the Philippine Carabao Center, on the other hand, reported that farmer cooperatives in the province were able to generate almost 30 million gross income in milk feeding, and 24 buffaloes were distributed in the municipality of Cuyapo. 
 
In the establishment of its Technology Business Incubator for Metal Innovations, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology aims to assist researchers and startups to accelerate and leverage their innovation towards socio-economic development.
 
The Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija through its Office of the Provincial Agriculturist assisted small farmers in market matching, trade fairs, awarding of the Malasakit Livelihood Program, and implementation of national programs such as Rural Enterprises for Agriculture and Fisheries, Young Farmer Challenge, and others. 
 
And lastly, Philippine Information Agency shared its advocacy activities in the dissemination of information about government programs, projects and services to the public through news production, kapihan, and forum.
