LTFRB, TESDA cater 101 Tsuper Iskolars in Region 1

SAN FERNANDO CITY (PIA)  – Some 101 scholars in Region 1 were accommodated under the Tsuper Iskolar Program of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFRB) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Scholars have just graduated from their training courses recently.

Some 94 beneficiaries were from Central Pangasinan and seven were from La Union who took training courses on Driving NC II, on Bread and Pastry Production NC II, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I.

Trainings were staged in blended face-to-face and online modes.

According to LTFRB-I Communications Development Office Harvey Jay Ocon, aside from free skills training and certification, scholars were also provided with Php350.00 allowance per day for a maximum of 35 training days.

One –time new normal financial assistance amounting to Php500 were given for the scholars which include to cover internet needs and personal protective equipment, as well as another Php500.00 uniform allowance.

“Pagdating sa magiging employment ng beneficiaries after the training, ito ay magiging base sa assessment ng TESDA at magpro-provide pa rin tayo ng assistance kung saan sila posibleng makapasok ng trabaho,” Ocon stated.

He added, “Ito kasing mga iskolar natin ay mga apektadong manggagawa sa Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program or maski active members ng transport sector.”

Meanwhile, Ocon cited that Region 1 is one of the top performing regions in the country on the implementation of Tsuper Iskolar.

However, like the Entsuperneur Program, he said the Tsuper Iskolar is temporarily on hold due to some budget concerns. (JCR/MJTAB/CGC, PIA Region 1)
