MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)—Misamis Occidental Provincial Government and the towns of Aloran, Bonifacio, Jimenez, Lopez Jaena, Panaon, Plaridel, Sapang Dalaga, Tangub City, and Tudela bagged the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards for their outstanding and laudable performances in the fight against illegal drugs, garnering passing scores in both functionality and awarding assessments in relation to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of anti-illegal drug activities in their respective localities.
Gov. Henry S. Oaminal congratulated the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for initiating and recognizing the different local government units that had performed in their respective anti-drug abuse councils.
"We should work together to complete this fight against illegal drugs so that, as much as possible, it should come to an end," he said.
The governor also praised the police force, led by Regional Director Lawrence Coop, for continuing to support all of its programs and activities to fulfill its mission to serve and protect and make the area a safer place to live, work, and invest.
"Kasi ngayon bumabalik pero hindi makaporma kasi 'yung police natin ay focus at 'yung (Now it's trying to come back but it can't operate because our police are focused and the) vision is still there that this problem really has to come to an end," Oaminal added.
The evaluation of the local government units was based on six indicators: the creation or reorganization of ADAC, the allocation of a substantial amount as indicated in the ADAC plan, the formulation and implementation of plans and programs, the supervision and support of component ADACs, meeting conduct, and anti-drug war campaign innovations.
The ADAC performance audit is in compliance with DILG Memorandum Circular 2022-034 and was done in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and local civil society organizations.
